You can't control the workers in any way, they will do everything themselves! All you can do is click on them to stop them doing... whatever they are doing.

They will throw ingredients into the cauldron, but they don't know the recipe, so watch them carefully!

Stop the worker - click the mouse

Check the recipe - hover over the top of the screen

Check the composition of the current potion - hover over the bottom of the screen

Finish the potion - click the check mark
